• Welcome to Jodhpur, a beautiful city located in the Thar Desert. Founded by Rao Jodha in 1459, the city is known by two popular names – Sun City, as the sun is said to rise here first, and Blue City, because of the many houses painted in shades of blue. This striking blue view is one of Jodhpur’s most famous features.
• In the past, these blue houses belonged to the upper-caste Brahmins, but today, they are a colorful highlight of the city. Like other cities in Rajasthan, Jodhpur has many forts and palaces – but here, you’ll find an even richer mix of.

• Start your day with a visit to the Mehrangarh Fort, made of red sandstone and one of the largest forts in India. It stands 410 feet above the city, offering amazing views of the sea of blue houses below. Inside, explore a museum filled with royal artifacts, a painting gallery, and even a restaurant with a breathtaking view. On the fort walls, you can still see marks of cannonballs and handprints of women who committed sati hundreds of years ago.
• Mehrangarh Fort is full of local legends, myths, and stories – some say it is even cursed and haunted. For adventure lovers, there’s zip-lining with Flying Fox Jodhpur right at the fort.
• Next, visit Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, once barren land, now a beautiful park with desert plants where you can trek and explore. Then see Jaswant Thada, a white marble cenotaph built by Maharaja Sardar Singh in memory of his father. When sunlight hits the marble, it glows warmly – a truly magical sight.
• Later, head to Clock Tower and the surrounding markets to shop for handicrafts, spices, and textiles. If time allows, take a peaceful walk through Jodhpur’s narrow blue lanes to soak in the everyday life of the city

• Begin your sightseeing with the City Palace, a grand palace complex located on the banks of Lake Pichola. It has four main palaces and several smaller ones, all with balconies, towers, and courtyards. Inside, you’ll find royal collections and artifacts.
• Enjoy a boat ride on Lake Pichola, with beautiful views of the palaces and the city.
• Next, see the famous Lake Palace, now a luxury hotel that has appeared in many movies. Visit Bagore Ki Haveli, a historic mansion showcasing antique Rajput items like jewelry boxes and copper vessels. In the evening, enjoy live folk music and dance performances here.
• Car lovers can visit the Garden Hotel to see an impressive collection of vintage cars once owned by the royal family. For shopping, head to Shilpgram, a craft village where you can buy traditional arts, crafts, and souvenirs.
